The `About Wendi Momen’ page of this blog tells you that my passions are the Baha’i Faith, my family, travel, books, social justice, spiritual development, the advancement of women, human rights, entertaining my friends, jazz and everything to do with the prosperity and advancement of civilization and that my unpassions are social injustice, violence and trafficking.

So I want to draw your attention to two important steps you can take today to make a difference to millions of people.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. If you read this blog, you are probably someone who supports human rights and wants to see them extended to all people everywhere. If so, you have a chance to show your support - and remind yourself exactly what those human rights are. Click here to sign up for human rights.

And step up to stamp out violence against women. The United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) is running a campaign `Say No to Violence Against Women’, ahead of the 16 days of activism for the elimination of violence against women, Sign up here today.

And if you live in the UK, you might consider actually joining UNIFEM. Take a look at this website. If you live in another part of the world and would like to participate more fully, look at the main UNIFEM website for your national committee.
